Watch our newest Employee Spotlight featuring Nimish Unde, Zeguro's rockstar Software Engineer.
Sure, so I've been working with Zeguro as a software engineer for more than three years now, and before that, I graduated from San Jose State. I did my Master's in software engineering at the same college you go to.
I'd say Spain, the reason being I'm a great follower of Real Madrid football club which is located in Spain. It's my dream to visit Madrid and see them play live.
My first job was back in India. I was part of an outsourcing team that worked for a U.S Bank called Charles Schwab. I was working more as a technical analyst. I was working on the virtual platform, servicing their platform—lots of ops related things but not much development experience there.
That's a tough one because it depends on my mood. One of my favorite movies I'd say, is Shawshank Redemption. I can watch it like every day. There's a great line about hope in there that I particularly like.
All sorts of rock. Classic rock, soft rock, sometimes classical metal but definitely all the older bands. Lots of Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, all of those.
I've always wanted to play a musical instrument. When I was a kid, I used to play an Indian classical instrument called the Tabla. I played it for about two to three years, and then my school started getting hectic so I stopped playing. But yeah, I've wanted to start playing a different instrument, maybe a string instrument like a guitar or violin.
Well, we're at a startup, so there are new and unique challenges all the time, which makes work always interesting. You get to work on many different things. It's never monotonous. Every day at work you face a new challenge, and as you know, everyone at Zeguro is like one big family. So it's like facing new challenges with a family.
I actually don't recall. Maybe someone from Zeguro reached out to me. I think it was Alex.
All the outings are so amazing. The one where we went to Napa. All the Christmas parties. There was another time in 2018 where we all went to an escape room, which was also amazing!
I don't know if I'd want to switch jobs, but maybe I want to work with someone from every other department besides engineering. So I get to know what challenges they face and what I could do as a software engineer to make their life easier. Maybe work with Abbey, Minerva, and Dennis for a week to learn about the insurance side. Maybe work with you and Ellen to learn more about the marketing aspect. Work with Sidd, John, and Kevin about the product and product design.
